Anton Antipov’s Valentine Underwear: A Transparent Call to Worship

The Belarusian climate ranging from harsh winters with temperature averaging 21°F, to cool and moist summers, photographer Peter D. Brown and his assistant Joan — who was up on a ladder throwing the flakes — knew that Anton Antipov could withstand lying nude in the snow. That’s why after shooting the regular series — and then the Santa series for DMK Designs’ underwear catalog — Peter decided to have some fun and create a ‘winter snowing fantasy series’, first with the ‘package side’ up.

The Christmas interpretation of DMK Designs‘ motto — It’s all about the package! — resulted in Anton Antipov posing as Santa in front of Peter D. Brown’s lens. They had to use fake snowballs though — real ones instantly turned to steam in the hands of the Belarus model.

Anton Antipov also appears in NEXT Magazine’s 2009 pull-out calendar featuring New York City bartenders. They were photographed by Troy Phillips and Akimitsu Sadoi in the bars where they work — Anton is at The Ritz, 369 W. 46th St. (below, center).
